Houston named Lions Student of the Month for March | School News

Phoenix School senior Savannah Houston has been named the March 2024 Fairfield Glade Lions Club Student of the Month.

Houston was selected by her school counselor, Erin Norrod, to participate in the Fairfield Glade Lions monthly program. Lions Club co-presidents Bill and Mary Green were named Houston Students of the Month, along with its corporate partner, Best-One Tire and Auto Care.

Students are selected to participate in the Lions program based on their good grades and participation in school and other activities during their four years in high school.

Houston took service-learning classes to help her play a role in improving the community. She is a member of the county calendar committee, a member of the prom committee and a student representative on the school board.

Houston works 20 hours a week on Highway 55 as a waiter. Her hobbies include arts and crafts.

She plans to attend Roane State in the fall to study radiology. Houston is a good example of a student who has benefited from participating in school activities during his four years of high school. Best-One Tire and Auto Care and the entire membership of the Fairfield Glade Lions Club wish him every success in achieving his future goals.

Houston and her mother have been invited to attend the Fairfield Glade Lions Dinner in April 2024 with all the “Students of the Month.” Students received a special plaque with their name and special month printed on it.
