Man dead after solo accident in Hanford, says CHP | YourCentralValley.com

HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was killed in a crash in Hanford on Thursday in which the driver lost control, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP says officers responded to the Hanford area around 12:55 p.m. on May 9 and investigated a crash on the Grangeville Boulevard bypass north of Grangeville Boulevard.

According to CHP, during the course of the investigation it was determined that party one was driving his 2007 Ford southbound on Grangeville Boulevard at an unknown speed. The Ford crossed into the northbound lane of Grangeville Boulevard.

CHP says the left front tires then slid onto the dirt and grass shoulder. The driver was able to get Ford back onto the asphalt. However, the driver lost control of the vehicle as it traveled across the two-lane highway and onto a soft gravel area, where the Ford overturned.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected, according to the CHP.

According to CHP, the driver suffered injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The use of alcohol and/or drugs is not ruled out, CHP said.

This is an ongoing investigation.
