Two dead after car accident on Kyhv Road

PROVO, Utah – Two people died after the vehicle they were in left the roadway at Kyhv Peak and rolled down a steep slope Saturday, according to police.

Lt. Josh Chappel of the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said officers received calls at 10 p.m. about a traffic accident with injuries.

When police arrived at Kyhv Peak Road, officers found a vehicle had left the road and come to a stop near the Provo Shooting Sports Park, according to Chappel.

“Our condolences and thoughts are with the families of those affected,” Chappel said.

Based on preliminary information, Chappel believes the vehicle may have been traveling on the asphalt portion of the road. As of Sunday morning, the sheriff’s office does not know what caused the vehicle to leave the road.
