F1 Hungarian GP: Max Verstappen involved in controversial incident in HUGE drama

Max Verstappen was cautioned on the first lap of the Hungarian Grand Prix for a possible rule violation.

The reigning world champion was forced off the track in the first corner, but rejoined the track in second position, ahead of initial pole sitter Lando Norris.

Verstappen was forced to give the position back to Norris, allowing McLaren to take the one-two lead again.

Verstappen angry about stewards’ decision

When Verstappen went off the track, Lewis Hamilton was able to intervene. When he attacked Verstappen in the second corner, the Dutchman pushed him slightly to the outside.

Although the 39-year-old missed an overtaking opportunity, he managed to overtake Carlos Sainz and move up to fourth place.

Norris started from pole after a brilliant performance in qualifyingwas once again dissatisfied with the antics of his World Championship rival and desperately asked his team to contact the race control about Verstappen’s maneuver.

Eventually, McLaren listened to their complaints and asked Verstappen to give the seat back to Norris – much to the annoyance of the three-time champion.

“OK, so you can just push people off the track?” Verstappen complained to Gianpiero Lambiase over his team radio.

“You can tell the FIA ​​that this is how we are going to race from now on. We are just going to force people off the road.”
