Suspect sought after attempted robbery and sexual assault in Toronto store: police

Toronto police say they are searching for a male suspect following an attempted robbery and sexual assault at a store in the company’s east end.

According to a Toronto Police report opinionThe incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at an unidentified business near Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East.

Officers alleged the suspect entered the store and attempted to gain access to the cash register before sexually assaulting an employee.

The statement said the suspect made a second unsuccessful attempt to break into the cash register before fleeing.

Investigators said they are looking for a 43-year-old man from Ajax in connection with the investigation.

Officials said Garrabet Istanboulian is wanted for robbery and assault with intent to steal, sexual assault and parole violation.

He was described as being about 5’7″ tall and of a strong build with long black hair and a full black and white beard.
