Trinidadian police officer on the run with gun after allegations of raping his underage niece

In Trinidad, police are searching for one of their colleagues who is wanted in connection with the rape of his teenage niece.

The Northern Division Child Protection Unit received a report from the victim that the police officer raped her several times, the most recent incident occurring in the first week of this month.

The suspect is assigned to a community police unit in the Eastern Police Division.

According to a police report, the victim’s mother confronted the suspect with the allegations on July 11 and he allegedly admitted them.

The report further states that the suspect made it clear to the mother that he would not go to jail and threatened to commit suicide with a piece of wire.

Police were informed that the suspect was in possession of a Firearm User License (FUL) and owned a Glock 19 with 50 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

When officers went to check on him at home, they learned that he had packed several bags of personal items, including the firearm and ammunition, and left the area.

Police said his current whereabouts are unknown. The investigation is ongoing.
