Pregnant woman in Keana community victim of gang rape

A pregnant woman named Margaret was brutally raped while working on her farm by an as yet unidentified armed gang of six.

The incident occurred on Friday, July 12, in Kadiri, Keana Local Government Area, leaving residents in a state of outrage and fear.

Margaret described her ordeal, saying she was on the farm with her husband when the armed gang, believed to be militia, appeared.

Both tried to escape, but due to her condition she was unable to escape and fell to the ground.

The armed men then took turns raping her, leaving her bleeding and barely conscious before abandoning her.

Margaret was later taken to hospital for medical treatment.

The community, which consists mainly of farmers, appealed to the government to intervene promptly and ensure justice for the innocent victim.

“It is imperative that measures are taken to protect farmers and residents from such barbaric acts in the future. The safety of all citizens must be ensured and steps must be taken to prevent a recurrence of such atrocities.”

“The community stands in solidarity with Margaret and all victims of the violence and calls on the authorities to take decisive action against this horrific crime and prevent further incidents of this kind.”

“The voices of the oppressed must be heard and justice must prevail,” said a community spokesman.

Local residents are demanding increased security and protection measures to ensure the safety of farmers and prevent similar tragedies from happening again.
