USDA issues warning on meat products

(CNN) – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has issued a health alert to the public about prepared meals illegally imported from the Philippines.

The imported products include corned beef and a chicken spread that were delivered to nine states, including South Carolina.

According to the agency, the Philippines is not allowed to export meat and poultry products to the United States.

The agency found the products during routine surveillance at a retail store.

An investigation is currently underway into how the products entered the country.
