Sacramento police search for dead woman’s children and their father

A day after a woman died, Sacramento police announced Tuesday that they were searching for her two missing children and the children’s father. On Monday, officers went to a home on Didcot Circle off Norwood Avenue in north Sacramento around 7:30 p.m. to answer a 911 call, police said. There they found a woman presumed dead. Firefighters arrived and pronounced the woman dead, police said. During the investigation, police investigators were unable to find the woman’s two children or the children’s father. The children are 4-year-old Athena Lee and 2-year-old Mateo Lee. The father is 38-year-old Cameron Lee. Police believe the children are with Cameron. So far, they have not been able to make contact with him and would like to speak to him about the children’s whereabouts. Cameron is believed to be driving a gray Honda Passport (model year 2023) with the California license plate “9JUS091.” A police news release labels the children “MP” (missing person). Cameron is not reported missing, but police have not identified him as a suspect or person of interest. Police also could not determine if the children are in danger or if an Amber Alert will be issued. Amber Alerts are issued by the California Highway Patrol when the following conditions are met: Law enforcement believes the person has been abducted. Law enforcement believes the person is in imminent danger of serious bodily harm or death. There is enough information about the missing person and the abduction that law enforcement can issue a public alert to assist in locating the person. The abducted person is 17 years of age or younger. The person’s name and other elements, including the “child abduction” designation, have been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sacramento Police Department at 916-808-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357. Callers can also remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
