Tropical Storm Beryl killed several people as it moved through Houston after making landfall near Matagorda around 4 a.m. Monday, the National Hurricane Center said. Beryl weakened from a tropical storm to a Category 1 hurricane before making landfall in Texas after moving through parts of the Caribbean, where it killed at least 11 people, destroyed homes and toppled power lines.
