Police respond to incident in Charleston neighborhood

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – Charleston police responded to an incident in a downtown neighborhood late Friday night.

Several patrol cars and investigators responded to the 100 block of Romney Street.

Witnesses reported that shortly after 11 p.m. they saw up to ten police cars with blue lights and sirens racing through the area.

Charleston police have not yet responded to requests for information about the nature of the incident.

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it is assisting police on the scene, but referred questions to Charleston Police.
