Spokane coroner identifies 23-year-old woman who died in scooter crash

The Spokane County Coroner has determined the identity of a woman who died in a scooter accident near MultiCare Deaconess Hospital on Tuesday.

Danielle Littrell, 23, died of blunt force trauma to the head and upper body, the coroner said. Her death was ruled an accident.

According to her Facebook page, Littrell attended Whitworth University and was from Kennewick.

According to a Spokane Police press release, Littrell was driving north near Fourth Avenue shortly before 6:30 a.m. when an eastbound driver stopped at a stop sign.

As the driver turned into the intersection, the scooter and the vehicle collided, police said.

Citizens began resuscitation until emergency personnel took over.

Littrell’s family has begun raising money on gofundme.com.

“Donations will be used for immediate needs to bring Dani home and lay her to rest,” the GoFundMe campaign states, adding that her family lives in Kennewick.

The police do not believe that the driver of the vehicle was impaired.

Police have not released any information about whether Littrell was wearing a helmet, whether she was riding the scooter on the street or sidewalk, or any other details pending the investigation.
