Two women killed in dump truck accident identified

The Lake County coroner has identified two women who died in a crash near Wauconda on Wednesday that caused a dump truck to overturn.

Carmen Zeron, 48, of Waukegan, has been identified as the driver of a Nissan sedan who died when the vehicle was struck by a dump truck at the intersection of Fairfield and Chardon streets around 8 a.m

Angelica Juarez, 55, of Round Lake Beach, was in the back seat of the sedan. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Autopsies revealed that the women died as a result of blunt force trauma in the accident.

A third woman in the sedan was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. She is expected to survive.

The driver of the dump truck was uninjured.

Authorities said the accident occurred when Zeron drove off Chardon Road into the path of the dump truck, which was traveling north on Fairfield Road.
