One man is dead and another injured after a shooting resulted from an argument at Alief Amity Park in west Houston, HPD said

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – Houston police responded to a reported shooting at a west Houston park Saturday night that left one man dead and another injured.

According to police, the shooting occurred around 7:32 p.m. on a basketball court at Alief Amity Park, 12509 Alief Clodine Road.

Authorities believe an argument broke out between three men, one of whom was hit in the head with an object (not shot) and the other was shot and later pronounced dead at the scene. Police do not know the whereabouts of the third man.

According to officials, gambling was taking place in the park when the shooting occurred.

According to police, the man who was hit in the head was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The authorities are trying to gain further witnesses for the investigation.
