STRONGS PRAIRIE, Wis. (WFRV) – Police discovered a hidden body in a central Wisconsin home after a welfare check on a woman who had not been heard from in days found evidence that the body had been “dug” or “buried.” Authorities are also searching for her son.

According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, officers received a call around 8:20 a.m. on Thursday morning, June 27, in which the caller stated they had not heard from 62-year-old Sharon K. Miller in three days.

The caller also stated that neither Miller nor her son, 37-year-old Jami L. Lumby, were there when they went to Miller’s home in Strongs Prairie.

Officers were unable to locate Miller or Lumby when they arrived at the home to investigate. However, upon checking their health, officers found evidence of “recent soil disturbance consistent with digging or burying of something on the property.”

After a search warrant was obtained, the body of an unidentified adult was found on the property. The press release did not note where or how the body was hidden.

The circumstances of the death remain under investigation and no autopsy has been performed as of June 28. Officials said the death was considered suspicious.

Authorities are currently seeking information on Lumby’s whereabouts and anyone who has had contact with Miller since Monday, June 24. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact the Adams County Sheriff’s Office by phone at 1-877-885-7786 or by submitting an anonymous tip.
