NPRA instructs SSNIT to suspend hotel sales

The National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA) has ordered the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) to stop the controversial sale of its shares in about four hotels.

This is intended to enable the authority to properly evaluate the documents relating to the sale of the catering facilities.

In a statement signed on June 28, NPRA Director General John Kwanin Mbroh instructed: “You are hereby directed by the Board of the Authority to suspend all proceedings aimed at attracting Rock City Hotel Limited as a strategic investor for the sale of the above-mentioned hotels.”
