Police arrest a man accused of setting “multiple” fires near homes in Manchester, New Hampshire

A man who intentionally set at least three fires near homes in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Wednesday morning has been charged with arson.

Manchester Police responded to the area of ​​Merrimack, Middle and Pleasant Streets for a report of multiple fires overnight, which officers at the scene believe were intentionally set.

Each fire occurred near residences and flammable materials were found nearby, police said. In one fire, a propane grill was used, and in another, items were placed on a deck and set on fire.

The fire department informed officers of a suspected man who had been seen in the area with a white plastic bag.

Police were able to locate and arrest the suspect, 41-year-old Nicholas Knee of Manchester.

According to police, Knee is charged with three counts of arson and one count of attempted arson.

Manchester police and firefighters are jointly investigating other fires that have occurred in the same area.
