Southern Indiana women arrested after 32 grams of meth found during traffic stop

Two southern Indiana women are facing charges after police found meth in one of their vehicles during a traffic stop. Indiana State Police said they arrested 63-year-old Sharon McLain and 48-year-old Tara Edwards on Sunday. Police were conducting a traffic stop around 7 p.m. Sunday when they noticed McLain failing to signal during several lane changes. After police stopped McLain and Edwards, another patrol officer was called to the scene with a canine unit. The sniffer dog found possible drugs in the car. Police then searched the vehicle and found 32 grams of suspected meth and 100 prescription drugs. McLain is charged with meth trafficking, meth possession and illegal possession of a notorious drug, all of which are felonies. Edwards is charged with meth possession, a Level 6 felony. Both women were booked into the Clark County Jail.

On Sunday around 7 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop when they noticed that McLain did not indicate several times while changing lanes.

After police stopped McLain and Edwards, another police officer was called to the scene with a canine unit. The sniffer dog found possible drugs in the car.

Police then searched the vehicle and found 32 grams of suspected meth and 100 prescription drugs.

McLain is charged with meth trafficking, meth possession, and illegal possession of a legendary drug, all of which are felonies.

Edwards is charged with possession of meth, a Level 6 felony.

Both women were taken to the Clark County Jail.
