Victim dies after shooting in Fargo

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – Fargo police said one person was dead Monday night after being shot in the face.

Police responded to the shooting in the 2200 block of 6th Avenue S. in Fargo shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday, June 24, and found a victim with serious injuries from a gunshot wound to the face.

They say one or more suspects fled the scene before police arrived.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Fargo police say the victim’s name is expected to be released Tuesday evening after next of kin are notified.

After examining the crime scene and speaking to witnesses, the police believe that the victim and the suspect(s) knew each other.

Fargo police say the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Red River dispatch center at 701.451.7660 or text an anonymous tip with the keyword FARGOPD and the tip to 847411.
