Construction worker dies in scissor lift accident in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A construction worker was killed on the job when a scissor lift fell on him, West Palm Beach Police (WPBPD) said.

According to WPBPD, the incident occurred at 9:15 a.m. Monday near 701 Okeechobee Boulevard. Spokesman Mike Jachles said the worker was attempting to drive the scissor lift onto a truck when it suddenly fell over.

When police arrived at the scene, the scissor lift was on top of him. An officer was able to lift it off the man, police said, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The worker’s name was not released.
