Police investigate after two people were shot in Westlake

Police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured in the Westlake area early Sunday evening.

It happened around 5:40 p.m. when officers were dispatched to the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Alvarado Boulevard, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department.

When they arrived, they found two male victims with gunshot wounds. Their condition was unknown and they were transported to nearby hospitals.

According to investigators, one of the suspects is still at large. He is a man in his 30s, about 6 feet tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He was wearing a black ski mask, black pants and a purple shirt.

SkyCal flew over the crime scene, where a group of street vendors lined the streets of the intersection. A large crowd had gathered outside the cordoned-off crime scene to watch the police investigation continue.
