Warrick County Health Department investigation leads to another arrest | News

WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEVV) – An Indiana State Police investigation into the Warrick County Health Department has resulted in another arrest.

ISP arrested 72-year-old Marlin Weisheit at the Warrick County Jail without incident.

According to ISP, on December 26, 2023, the Warrick County Commissioners publicly announced Marlin Weisheit as interim administrator of the Warrick County Health Department.

Four days earlier, it is said, a contract was signed between the Warrick County Commissioners and Weisheit agreeing that he would be an independent contractor and not a Warrick County agent or county employee.

ISP announced that Health Administrator Weisheit had denied the position of Administrator of the Department of Health between December 26, 2023 and April 15, 2024.

On April 16, 2024, the Warrick County Health Administrator officially approved the hiring of Weisheit. His first day of employment with the Warrick County Health Department as a county employee was April 23, 2024.

According to the ISP, the $9,600 in hours of work performed by Weisheit between January 2 and February 29, 2024, were paid for with Department of Health funds without the knowledge or consent of the health administration.

According to the ISP, between April 26 and May 2, Weisheit allegedly used the health administrator’s stamp without his authorization or authority to transfer funds within the Department of Health’s budget to settle a lease.

After reviewing this investigation, Perry County Special Prosecutor Samantha Hurst filed misdemeanor and conversion charges against Wisdom.

Wisdom was released on bail.
