Angel’s Rest Trail reopens after closure due to cougar stalking incident

A popular hiking trail in the Columbia River Gorge is set to reopen this week after a cougar was spotted.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife said the wild animal was stalking a runner on the Angel’s Rest Trail last Tuesday.

Oregon State Parks plans to reopen the trailhead Thursday morning unless there are further sightings.

The person who was chased by the big cat said he learned how to survive the attack on YouTube.
