WDAM 7 Morning Commute for Monday, June 10

PINE BELT, Mississippi (WDAM) – Road work continues throughout the Pine Belt as commuters head back to work Monday morning.

In Covington County, officials reported that Willow Grove Church Road at the intersection with Evergreen Church Road will be closed for maintenance from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, June 10. They asked drivers to use alternate routes.

Other current traffic reports and road closures include:

  • Forest County
    • ROAD WORK: I-59 between US 49 and Exit 80 (Moselle-Seminary Road) – loading restrictions, alternating lane closures apply
    • ROAD WORK: Oncoming traffic on I-59 at the Bouie River Bridge between the US 49 and Evelyn Gandy intersections
    • ROAD WORK: Construction of the Hall Street Overpass in downtown Hattiesburg
    • ROAD WORK: River Avenue/South Main Street at the intersection of Carterville Road
    • BRIDGE CLOSURE: South George Street over Matthew’s Branch Creek
    • BRIDGE CLOSURE: Davis Road over Dry Prong Creek
    • ROAD WORK: US 49 at Forrest General Hospital between O’Ferral Strett and Mamie Street
    • ROAD WORK: US 49 between US 11 and Roy Tucker Road
  • Jefferson Davis County
    • ROAD CLOSURE: State Route 184 between State Route 13 and Granby Road
  • Jones County
    • ROAD CLOSURE: Intersection of North 15th Avenue and West 3rd Street
    • ROAD CLOSURE: West Drive between Green Acres Drive Parkway and Meadowbrook Drive in Laurel
    • ROAD CLOSURE: Dacetown Road from US Highway 11 to the 500 block of Dacetown Road.
  • Lamar County
    • ROAD WORK: Old Highway 24 between Old Highway 11 and Oak Grove Elementary
    • ROAD CLOSURE: Gravel Pit Road between Bullock Loop and Gravel Pit Road splits before Jackson Road
  • Marion County
    • ROAD WORK: Pearl River Bridge on US 98 in Columbia
  • Perry County
    • ROAD WORK: MS 42 between Corinth Church Road and Pumping Station Road
