“He was nothing short of incredible.”

The Houston Texans offseason has been one for the books, perhaps one of the best we’ve seen in NFL history. Trades that brought in high-level production and talent, free agent signings that upgraded positions and added depth, and a draft class that will add even more depth while raising the floor were among them .

One of their acquisitions via trade was former Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs. In his final season with the Bills, Diggs caught 107 passes for 1,183 yards and 8 touchdowns, but he had apparently become frustrated that he had not been able to go further in the playoffs and in leading the offense.

Now in Houston, Diggs has started to settle in with his new team during OTAs, and after this week’s practice, QB CJ Stroud talked about how Diggs is fitting in and what it’s like to work with him.

“He fit in really well – he came in with his head down, he just worked,” Stroud said. “He helped me a lot. He came from a good system there when he was with the Bills, and they did a lot of things with him, and really just offense, and he told me to how well Josh (Allen) was playing and things like that, things we do differently.

“We had a lot of conversations,” Stroud said. “So he came in and was a leader, and I’m proud of him, he was really selfless and wanted to see other guys eat. That was his main goal. He wanted to be around other dogs, and he walked in this role where there’s a dog everywhere he looks right, he looks left, there’s going to be a dog and that’s what we bring to the table. now, and I’m really excited to work with him.”

Diggs has been scrutinized throughout his career for causing problems in the locker room with his attitude towards a number of things, mainly due to the fact that all he wants is to win and get a ring from Super Bowl.

Things seem to be off to a pretty good start for him in Houston and the fact that he’s surrounded by some of the best players in the league, regardless of offense, leaves no doubt that he’ll have a chance to reach his ultimate goal as long as possible. as he, Stroud and the entire team stay focused and perform to their abilities.
