Woman arrested in connection with north side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said it has made an arrest following a shooting Friday afternoon on Indy’s north side.

According to police, officers were called to the 2900 block of Dr. Andrew J. Brown Avenue shortly before 4 p.m. because a person had reportedly been shot.


When officers arrived, they found a victim who had been shot. The victim was reportedly in stable condition.

IMPD initially stated that it had arrested one person, but was unsure at the time what role that person played. Then around midnight, IMPD announced that it had arrested 31-year-old Shirley Jones for assault with a deadly weapon.
