St. Lawrence University campus secure after threat alert

St. Lawrence University Campus Security says the campus is safe after a threat alert was issued at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.

Security officials notified the campus community later that evening. Officials said an individual walked into the Brewer Bookstore on the St. Lawrence campus, made a verbal threat against the campus, and then left the area. The suspect is now in custody, and Campus Security says there is no known threat to the campus.

The case is being handled by local and state police.
