77-year-old woman injured in dog fight in Waldorf

WALDORF, Maryland – On June 5, 2024, at approximately 2:54 p.m., police and emergency personnel responded to a reported dog bite in the 8500 block of Bensville Road.

A 77-year-old woman tried to break up a dog fight and was bitten on the hand. After the bite, she fell and suffered a laceration on the back of her head.

The emergency services gave instructions on how to stop the bleeding en route. The caller reported that his condition was deteriorating, but the phone connection was intermittent and eventually disconnected.

The injured woman was taken to UM Capital Region Medical Center for further treatment.
