2 teenagers killed, 3 others injured in accident in Playa del Rey

PLAYA DEL REY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Two teenagers were killed and three others injured in an accident in Playa del Rey.

The two-car accident occurred just before 8 p.m. Tuesday in Vista Del Mar near Dockweiler State Beach.

There were four teenagers in one of the cars. One of them died at the scene of the accident, the other in hospital. Their exact ages are not known.

The other two teenagers and a woman, believed to be in her thirties, who was in the other car were also taken to hospital.

The exact circumstances of the collision were not known, but according to witnesses, one of the drivers may have lost consciousness and fallen into oncoming traffic.

Authorities said there was no evidence that either driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
