Miami Beach man arrested and accused of forcing women into prostitution and drug trafficking – NBC 6 South Florida

A man was arrested in Miami Beach after allegedly forcing women into prostitution and drug trafficking, police said.

Omar Bey, 32, was arrested on Sunday and faces numerous charges, including human trafficking, coercion or forcing into prostitution and drug possession, according to records.

According to a police report, police became aware of Bey last month when they arrested a woman accused of trying to sell drugs and sex to an undercover agent.

On Sunday, police responded to an emergency call about a stabbing and found a woman with numerous injuries.

The woman said she had arrived from New Orleans a week earlier and met Bey, who began soliciting her for money to work as a prostitute and sell drugs, the report said.

She told investigators that Bey commuted between Chicago and Miami, sold drugs on Ocean Drive and had numerous other girls working for her, the report said.

Bey was found hiding under a black tarp on Pennsylvania Avenue and taken into custody, the report said.

According to the report, officers found that there was a warrant out for his arrest for grand theft and fraud in Palm Beach.

Bey was taken to prison. Attorney details were not available.
