SIT searches for Prajwal Revanna’s mother Bhavani

BENGALURU: The Special Investigation Team has been conducting searches at various places for the last 24 hours to search for Bhavani Revanna, mother of suspended JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, in connection with a woman abduction case, as she was not present at her residence in Holenarasipura in Hassan district, sources said on Sunday.

The SIT had asked Bhavani to appear at home on June 1 as she had to be questioned in connection with the allegation of sexual abuse of her son.

When a team of SIT investigators reached Bhavani’s house“Chennambika Nilaya”, she was not present.

Two women lawyers reached Chennambika Nilaya on Saturday evening and met the SIT officials.

They did not disclose the purpose of the meeting.

It was learnt that Bhavani sent a message through her lawyers saying that she was not feeling well and would appear before them shortly.

Bhavani’s husband and Holenarasipura JD(S) MLA HD Revanna is out on bail in the same case.

The SIT conducted searches at various places including Mysuru, Hassan, Bengaluru, Mandya and Ramanagara.

According to sources, the houses of Bhavani’s relatives were also searched to trace her, but she was not found.

According to sources, the SIT has formed several teams to search for Bhavani.

The JD(S) First Family, particularly former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda’s son HD Revanna, his wife Bhavani and son Prajwal, are in a difficult position after dozens of explicit videos were released on April 21 and Prajwal, who is re-elected as the NDA candidate in the Lok Sabha section of Hassan, fled to Germany.

The Karnataka government has set up the SIT to investigate the cases against Prajwal following a recommendation from Karnataka State Commission for Women Chairperson Nagalakshmi Chowdhary, who had requested Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to investigate the case.

Prajwal, who is facing allegations of sexual abuse, returned from Germany on Friday and was immediately arrested by the SIT at Bengaluru airport.

A special city court ordered his remand until June 6.
