Dog killed in house fire in South Salt Lake

SOUTH SALT LAKE — According to fire officials, a dog died in a house fire in South Salt Lake on Saturday afternoon.

The fire broke out in a residential building in the area of ​​2645 S. 400 East.

One resident of the house was treated on site for smoke inhalation, but everyone else appears to have been unharmed, police said. A dog died in the fire.

When the fire department arrived, smoke was coming out of the attic, the fire department said. The emergency services were able to bring the fire under control within 20 minutes.

Salt Lake City Fire Department suspects the house fire started somewhere in the kitchen area, but details are still being investigated.
