Wakefield crash being investigated as possible ‘driving aggression incident,’ police say – Boston 25 News

WAKEFIELD, Massachusetts – Authorities in Wakefield are investigating a crash that left one person hospitalized and both drivers summoned to court for their involvement in the crash.

The accident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Salem Street and Chapman Road.

When emergency responders arrived on scene, they said they found two vehicles with significant damage. One of the vehicles, a white Toyota SUV, had crashed through a fence on Chapman Road. The other vehicle, a black Toyota Corolla, was found nearby.

According to authorities, both vehicles were traveling north on 95 before exiting the highway toward Wakefield, where the crash occurred.

“The drivers may have been involved in an incident of road rage that originated on the motorway,” Wakefield Police said.

The driver of the SUV that drove through the fence had to be taken to the hospital due to injuries sustained in the accident.

Police identified the driver of the white Toyota SUV as a 33-year-old man from Nashua, NH. He will appear in court and face charges of endangering traffic and violating lane markings.

According to police, the driver of the black Toyota Corolla is a 38-year-old man from Marblehead. He will appear in court and be charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving without a license.

The cause of the accident is currently being investigated by Wakefield Police.
