Investigation into death of toddler in Thomaston, Maine – NECN

The death of a 22-month-old child in Thomaston, Maine, is under investigation, police said Thursday.

Maine State Police said emergency responders were called to the Walmart in Thomaston around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday because a child was not breathing. The child was taken to Pen Bay Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit has been called in, which is standard procedure when a child dies in Maine. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
