Man found shot dead in his home near Haugh Street

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man was found shot to death in his home and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is calling it a homicide.

On Thursday at 1 p.m., IMPD officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Haugh Street, a residential area on the west side of the city, for a death investigation. When officers arrived at the scene, they found an unconscious adult male inside a residential building. Paramedics arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene. After further investigation, officers determined the man had sustained gunshot wounds.

IMPD’s Homicide Unit arrived at the scene to begin the investigation. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine the exact manner and cause of death and will release the victim’s name after his family is notified.
