New York landmarks will be lit up for Memorial Day

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Governor Kathy Hochul announced that 16 New York landmarks will be lit in red, white and blue Monday evening to commemorate Memorial Day.

The following landmarks will be illuminated:

  • 1WTC

  • Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge

  • Kosciuszko Bridge

  • The H. Carl McCall SUNY Building

  • National Education Building

  • Alfred E. Smith State Office Building

  • Empire State Square

  • State Fairgrounds – Main Gate and Exhibition Center

  • Niagara Falls

  • Grand Central Terminal – Pershing Square Viaduct

  • Albany International Airport Gateway

  • Lake Placid Olympic Center

  • MTA LIRR – East End Walkway at Penn Station

  • Fairport Lift Bridge over the Erie Canal

  • Moynihan Railway Hall

  • Footbridge over Hudson State Historic Park

“Today we honor those who risked their lives to protect our country’s freedoms,” Hochul said. “New York is committed to upholding the values ​​for which they fought so courageously. Memorial Day is a day of remembrance, a day of reflection, as we mourn the sacrifices of our military.
