Two dead after head-on collision in Methuen – NBC Boston

Two people were killed in a three-vehicle crash early Monday morning in Methuen, Massachusetts.

Massachusetts State Police troopers responded to a report of an accident on Route 93 southbound at approximately 2:10 a.m.

According to authorities, a 53-year-old man from Quincy, Massachusetts, was driving a 2020 Toyota Rav4 in the wrong direction and collided with a Toyota Camry driven by a 21-year-old from Quincy, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Rav4 was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

After the accident, the Camry crashed into another car, but the driver of that vehicle was not injured.

All three lanes of Route 93 were closed for about three hours but have now reopened.

The crash remains under investigation.
