Blossom River incident: Police say a man was shot dead in San Jose. The 15th murder this year in the city

SAN JOSE, California – San Jose police are investigating after a man was shot in an apartment complex in south San Jose on Sunday afternoon.

The shooting was reported around 2:45 p.m. from an apartment in the Blossom River Apartments complex, 1000 Blossom River Way.

The victim was unconscious and not breathing when officers arrived.

They performed life-saving measures and called medical personnel, but the man died at the scene, police said. His name was not released.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, officials said.

No further information about the shooting was released Monday.

The death is the 15th homicide in San Jose this year.
