Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash in Norristown, police say – NBC10 Philadelphia

Norristown police officers are searching for the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a person while attempting to cross Main Street Sunday evening.

According to police, a pedestrian, about whom officers have provided no further information, was killed just before 11 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle in the roadway near the intersection of Main and Astor streets in Norristown.

Ryan Clark, owner of a business in the area, said the incident was captured on his security camera footage.

“It was a very high force collision,” he told NBC10 on Monday. “They were thrown into the air, landed and died on impact.”

Officials contacted Monday declined to provide further information as they work to notify the victim’s next of kin.

Police officers also did not provide any information about the vehicle that was presumably involved in this incident.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, police officials said.

This is breaking news. It will be updated as new information becomes available.
