A man was found dead on I-65 in Louisville, police said

A portion of Interstate 65 was closed in Louisville Monday morning after a person was found dead on the road, police said. LMPD said they responded to the southbound lanes of Arthur Street around 9:15 a.m. When they arrived, they found a man who appeared to have been hit by a vehicle in the right shoulder. Police later said the incident was a hit-and-run and that the man climbed over the guardrail on I-65 around 1:30 a.m. and was struck by a “light-colored pickup truck.” The person driving the truck did not stop to render aid. LMPD said the man was struck a short time later by two other cars on I-65 that also failed to stop. As of 10:20 a.m. the left hand landed on I-65 South has reopened and the Arthur Street exit is open. The right lane remained closed for the investigation, police said. The LMPD Traffic Unit responded and is conducting an investigation.
