1 dead, 2 injured in shooting involving an MPD officer

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – One person is dead and another is injured after a shooting in Raleigh Friday morning.

Memphis police officers responded to a domestic violence call at Dumbarton Road and Whitney Avenue around 3 a.m

Officers found an injured man and an armed suspect who had attacked the officers.

One of the officers fired his weapon and shot the suspect.

The suspect and the injured man were taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

The suspect did not survive his injuries.

One officer was injured at the scene, but it was unrelated to the altercation.

The officer was taken to Methodist North in non-critical condition.
