Owatonna fugitive arrested for illegal drugs in Clear Lake | Top Stories

CLEAR LAKE, Iowa – A Minnesota fugitive faces new charges after his arrest in northern Iowa.

Clear Lake police said they arrested Bradley L. Winters, 57, of Owatonna on Friday.

According to police, a report of a reckless motorcyclist near the 600 block of U.S. Highway 18 was received around 6 p.m. Officers found the motorcycle in a business parking lot and said when they tried to reach the driver, later identified as Winters, he ran away.

Investigators say Winters was quickly apprehended and taken into custody after a brief struggle. Police say over 100 grams of methamphetamine were found in Winters’ possession.

Clear Lake police said Winters had a federal drug warrant out for his arrest. He was booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail on charges of possession of meth with intent to sell, first-degree forcible harassment, assault on persons, obstruction of public order with bodily injury and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Assisting with this incident were the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force, Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division, and Iowa State Patrol.
