July’s precipitation is about 7 inches above normal. Galveston has already had the third wettest July on record, with nearly 18 inches.

It has been a very wet week with several flooding issues and further flooding is expected this weekend.

Saturday will once again be a FOX 26 storm warning day.

The flood watch has been extended until 1 p.m. Saturday from Houston to Liberty, Galveston and Palacios.

Additional rainfall of one to four inches is still possible through Saturday evening.

Futurecast shows another big wave of rain moving inland from the coast on Saturday morning with scattered showers in the afternoon.

The greatest flood risk will be closer to the coast on Saturday in areas such as Galveston, Alvin and Lake Jackson.

But Houston also remains at high risk of street flooding.

The good news is that a MAJOR pattern change is on the horizon next week with warm, humid days but less heat.
