Temperatures are expected to rise above 35 degrees again, and high dew points will make temperatures feel more like 38 degrees on Tuesday. The heatwave is expected to continue through Wednesday before a cold front brings falling temperatures and humidity on Thursday.

There is an increased probability of thunderstorms on Wednesday.

Danvers authorities advised those in need of assistance to use air-conditioned public spaces such as shopping centers, movie theaters and restaurants.

The Senior Center and Danvers Public Library are open for residents who need to cool off.

Residents are asked to be mindful of their family, neighbors, the elderly and other vulnerable members of the community.

Residents are also urged to prepare for possible power outages if they need power for medical equipment or to refrigerate medications.

Anyone needing assistance should call Danvers Police Department dispatch at 988-774-1212 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
