One person dead after shooting in southeast Portland

One person was killed in a shooting in southeast Portland late Friday evening.

Police responded to a report of a shooting at Sellwood Riverfront Park at approximately 11:15 p.m. and found the victim dead when they arrived.

The victim is a man, but police told The Oregonian/OregonLive they could not say whether he was an adult or a minor until his identity was confirmed.

Homicide detectives are currently investigating and believe several people were in the area at the time of the shooting but left the area without contacting police.
