58-year-old man charged after bizarre attack on woman’s car and bystander in city centre

A 58-year-old London man is facing charges following what police described as a bizarre incident in the city centre in which a man prevented an unknown woman from leaving a car park and then chased another person with a stone.

According to London police, it was shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday when a woman returned to her vehicle in the area of ​​Kent Street and Talbot Street and saw an unknown man leaning against it.

The woman asked the man to move so she could get into her vehicle, police said, and he did so. But once she was in the vehicle, the man blocked her from getting out and repeatedly banged on the driver’s window, police said.

The woman exited her vehicle and called police. The man then chased a witness with a rock in his hand and left the area, police said. Officers found a suspect near the intersection of Talbot and Albert streets and arrested him.

There were no physical injuries, police said, adding that they had obtained video recording of part of the incident.

Todd Hunt, 58, of London, is charged with:

  • Attack with a weapon

His next appearance in a London court is scheduled for August 20, police said.
