Hot, hazy and humid in New Jersey. Rain and storms coming towards the end of the week

A heat warning has been issued until 8 p.m. There is an air quality warning and a dense fog warning until 10 a.m.



NOW NEW: Meteorologists Mike Rizzo and Hilda Estevez of the Storm Watch Team say it’s hot, hazy and muggy today. Temperatures will feel close to triple digits (38-41 degrees) across the state today, with the possibility of isolated thundershowers after 2 p.m. in the central and southern regions. A similar trend is in store for tomorrow, with a few more clouds in the sky.



NEXT: The weather will become unsettled towards the middle of the week, with widespread rain and storms until Wednesday. During the same period, the heat will cool down until the weekend.


TONIGHT: Hot, hazy and humid with highs around 96. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms possible. Nighttime lows around 76.


WEDNESDAY: More clouds with widespread rain and storms. Some storms could become severe, with the main threat being heavy rain and localized flooding likely. Highs around 93. Nighttime lows around 78.


THURSDAY: Mostly cloudy with showers and remnants of tropical air mass Beryl, favoring thunderstorms and localized flooding across the state. Highs around 92. Nighttime lows 77.

FRIDAY: Unsettled, windy rain and thunderstorms. Fortunately, highs will be around 88. Nighttime lows will be around 74.
