Two missing girls found after public safety alert

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Fort Wayne Police issued a public safety alert Monday evening regarding two missing girls.

Shortly after 7 p.m. Monday, FWPD issued a public safety alert to search for two missing, possibly endangered girls. Janiya Jones and Jalaya Simpson were last seen about two hours ago in the area of ​​1200 E Pettit Avenue.


Shortly before 7:15 p.m., the FWPD issued a follow-up report saying that the two girls had been found.

Janiya Jones, 11, was described as a black woman, 5’5″ tall and 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing a gray shirt with pink stripes and blue shorts.

Jalaya Simpson was described as a black female, 5’3″ tall, weighing 110 pounds. She has two ponytails, but no further description was given.
