Chaparral Street closed after bomb threat at CCPD

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A woman is being investigated after she entered the Corpus Christi Police Department on Monday and told a municipal court security officer that she believed someone had placed a bomb in her car, the CCPD said.

Officers closed Chaparral Street between John Sartain Street and Coopers Alley to search her vehicle; the Corpus Christi Fire Department also responded to the scene.

A bomb disposal officer in full protective gear searched the vehicle and found no evidence of a bomb.

The police station building was not evacuated.

The police are talking to her to assess her mental health.
