MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WSAU) – A Milwaukee Bucks star was under investigation after an altercation between him and some fans during Milwaukee’s Game 6 loss to the Indiana Pacers.

According to Shams Charania and Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic, Patrick Beverley threw a basketball twice at the Pacers fans sitting behind the Bucks’ bench in the fourth quarter of the Game 6 loss. Beverley states that fans taunted the Bucks’ bench throughout the game and that the team requested assistance from stadium staff to remove the fans, but no action was taken.

Bucks head coach Doc River addressed the situation in his postgame interview, saying, “We’re better than this.” Pat feels terrible about it. He also understands emotionally – this is an emotional game and things happen – unfortunately you are judged straight away and he lets the emotions get the best of him.”

The Athletic has not been informed of what possible charges the Marion County District Attorney’s Office authorities might file against Beverley, and the NBA has also begun investigating the situation. The league has not ruled out suspending Beverley for the start of the 2024-25 season.
